Consumer Loan Officer

This position will provide members with financial counseling that promotes the responsible use of credit.  Will also underwrite applications and structure loans in accordance with the credit union's credit performance model.

Must be available to work from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday.

Description of Duties:

  • Consumer Lending
    • Provide financial counseling to members.
    • Conduct loan interviews and assist members with their loan application.
    • Obtain credit reports and underwrite loans for approval.
    • Direct the processing of account and employment verifications.
    • Prepare loan documents and facilitate signatures.
    • Disburse loan funds.
    • Cross-sell products and services to members.
  • Indirect Lending
    • Input indirect loans on Core Processing system.
    • Determine and prepare proper remittance to dealerships.
    • Review documents for compliance with underwriting guidelines.
    • Identify and eliminate document deficiencies.
    • Underwrite loans for approval.
  • Collections
    • Review weekly delinquency report.
    • Assist with communications on delinquent accounts.
    • Assist in repossession of collateral when necessary.
    • Assist with general collection duties as needed.
  • Loan Support
    • Answer general loan inquiries.
    • Provide credit ratings.
    • Assist with month and quarter end activities.
    • Assist Tellers with loan related postings.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate's degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal training and experience.
  • General knowledge of banking loan products and applicable policies and standards.
  • Three to five years of lending experience is preferred, or equivalent educational training in business.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills, analytical skills and able to make decisions confidently.

Loan Assistant

This position will process consumer loans by obtaining initial underwriting information, preparing loan documents, and facilitating signatures at closing.  Will also manage the administration of collateral protection coverage and other ancillary loan products and give general support to other loan department staff members.

Must be available to work from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday.

Description of Duties:

  • Consumer Lending
    • Answer general loan inquiries and assist members with loan applications.
    • Obtain credit reports on loan applications.
    • Prepare loan documents, facilitate signatures and disburse funds.
    • File or release liens on collateral.
    • Assemble and verify accuracy of consumer loan documentation.
    • Complete credit verifications.
    • File documents in loan files.
    • Assist Loan Officers by accomplishing related duties as assigned.
    • Prepare and send single payment loan maturity notices to members.
    • Review documents for compliance with underwriting guidelines.
    • Identify and eliminate document deficiencies.
    • Cross-sell additional products and services to members.
    • Process loan payoffs.
  • Collateral Insurance and Ancillary Products
    • Ensure that proper insurance is maintained on all collateral.
    • Submit proof of insurance for new and existing loans.
    • Maintain collateral protection insurance reports.
  • Loan Support
    • Engage in collection activities as assigned.
    • Perform month and quarter-end activities.
    • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Understanding of loan products and services.  Knowledge of loan processing systems, applications and procedures.
  • One to two years of lending or banking experience preferred.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as attention to detail.  Able to work knowledgeably with computer applications.

Accounting Assistant

This position would provide primary support for accounting, financial operations and payroll services. Engagement in accounting maintenance, which includes accounts payable and cash management.  Assist with various duties within the department including ACH coordination, Check 21 activities, and corporate account administration.

Must be available to work from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday.
